Hello everyone,

Welcome to the new Momo-gumi friends, current Tampopo-gumi and Sakura-gumi friends, parents and guardians at Tokai Dai Ichi Yochien this year!
On the day of the Entrance Ceremony, the first thing I noticed coming up to the school in the morning was that many trees surrounding the kindergarten were all bright pink in color- the sakura just so happened to become in full bloom on that day. I was very much impressed to see such a beautiful natural sight to coincide with the ceremony. I’m sure I will never forget this moment when I think back on this special day as the new principal. I think I can somewhat understand now the deep special love that Japanese have for the sakura flower.
Before I write anymore, I would like to say I appreciate the opportunity to serve as the new principal this year. I am looking forward to getting to know your children and you, and I will do my best to assist in your child's education.
Here at the school, while we focus on music and English among other enjoyable activities, we always try to have the children think for themselves, work together in harmony with others and to always be aware of the feelings of their other classmates during any activity.
As a parent whose child recently graduated from kindergarten this past March, I can understand some of the worries you may have regarding your children’s education at this stage. So I hope we, the staff and parents, can work closely together to create an enjoyable learning environment for everyone. We will value any suggestions or ideas that you may have at anytime. We feel that only thru communication can we understand the children’s needs better.
Lastly, I would like to ask a favor from all parents. This year we would like to give the children more chance to use English naturally, not just in the classroom but during playtime as well. We hope that you will encourage your child to speak and have fun in English with our native English teachers here and of course, the “enchou-sensei” too!
